Javier Fernández Domínguez

Founder

Degree in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2010, Specialist in Clinical Microbiology from the Central University Hospital of Asturias in 2015 and PhD from the University of Oviedo, with International Mention of Doctorate and Extraordinary Award in 2016.

He has made scientific stays in various international centers, highlighting the Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris (France), the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and the Mayo Clinic (USA).

During his Doctoral Thesis and in the following years he has specialized in the study and characterization of mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics and in the investigation of infectious diseases in general. He has participated in several R+D+I projects of private and competitive financing and has published more than 70 articles in indexed national and international journals, many of them with high impact factor.

In 2019 he received the national PRAN award for the best publication on antibiotic resistance awarded by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products and the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.

Since 2020 he is one of the 10 members of the Spanish Antibiogram Committee (COESANT). He is also a reviewer and editor in several national and international scientific journals.
